GTA 6’s 34-Track Album Turns Vice City’s Soundtrack Into a Launch Event

Rockstar Games has turned one of GTA 6’s most important world-building tools into a headline event: Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album is a 34-track collection of original music arriving alongside the game. The reveal is bigger than a playlist announcement because it shows how aggressively Rockstar is treating Vice City’s sound, identity, and real-world cultural reach as part of the game’s launch.

The first six tracks are already available to hear, giving fans an unusually clear preview of the album’s range. The opening group moves from Yung Lean’s “That’s It,” featuring Future and Metro Boomin, to Travis Scott’s “RHYNO,” produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, Keith Richards, and the collaboration between CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.., and Etienne de Crécy complete the first wave.

34 original tracks are planned for the full album.

That lineup matters for GTA 6 because the series has never used music as simple background decoration. Radio stations establish neighborhoods, characters, and moods, while the right song can turn a routine drive into a memorable story beat. Rockstar says the new game will include an evolving in-game radio experience and a dynamic score, suggesting that music may respond more closely to what players are doing in Leonida.

A soundtrack designed to travel beyond the game

Rockstar and Atlantic Records are also positioning the album as a standalone release rather than a souvenir hidden inside the game. Fans can pre-save it on streaming services, while physical editions will be available on both CD and vinyl. The official store is offering special versions, including a liquid-filled vinyl edition, a splatter-edition vinyl, and an exclusive CD jewel case. Other retailers are expected to carry their own color variants and artwork.

That strategy gives the music a second life outside Vice City. GTA has a long history of sending older songs back up the charts after they appear in trailers or gameplay, and the latest announcement is already creating a fresh discovery cycle for artists who might not otherwise share the same audience. The album’s genre mix feels deliberately built for that effect: it can serve a club scene, a highway cruise, a radio gag, or a tense mission without being locked to one musical identity.

It also creates an awkward contrast that fans immediately noticed. GTA 6 itself is planned as a digital-only game release, while its soundtrack is being promoted in collectible physical formats. That difference has reopened the argument over ownership, preservation, and why a game can be too large or inconvenient for a disc while its companion music still receives premium packaging. For collectors, the contradiction may be part of the appeal; for preservation-minded players, it is a reminder that the most tangible piece of the launch could be the album rather than the game.

The timing of the announcement is important, too. Rockstar has spent months keeping GTA 6 details tightly controlled, so revealing six singles and a 34-track framework gives the marketing campaign a new lane that does not depend on another trailer. It lets the company build anticipation through artists, streaming platforms, billboards, and physical products while keeping story and gameplay surprises protected.

For players, the immediate question is which of the remaining 28 tracks will define the next era of Vice City radio. If Rockstar’s past soundtracks are any indication, some songs will become fan favorites on day one, while others will only reveal their significance after they are tied to a particular character, mission, or late-night drive through Leonida.

GTA VI: The Album is scheduled for November 19, the same day the game launches. Until then, the first six singles offer the clearest signal yet that GTA 6 is not merely returning to Vice City—it is rebuilding the city as a living broadcast.
