GTA 6 Map V16 Gives Fans a Clearer Picture of Leonida

Leonida is becoming easier to read before Grand Theft Auto VI even reaches players. A community mapping project has released a major revision that combines Rockstar’s official footage, the recent Netflix Extended Look, and the disputed Cyberleek leak into a more coherent picture of how Vice City connects to the wider state.

That makes the update more than another fan-made map screenshot. It is an attempt to reconcile three very different kinds of evidence: polished marketing material, fragments of unfinished development footage, and the careful work of players who have been measuring coastlines, roads, landmarks, and sightlines frame by frame.

Map V16 is currently the clearest community-backed outline of Leonida.

The project, associated with mapper Yanis and shared publicly through the State of Leonida community, has reportedly reached a late work-in-progress revision known as V16. The biggest changes are not concentrated in the neon center of Vice City. They are at the edges, where the scale of Rockstar’s open world becomes easier to understand.

The north and west look less empty

In the latest revision, Mt. Kalaga National Park is represented as a more fragmented northern region rather than one simple uninterrupted block. That matters because national parks in open-world games often function as transition spaces: they can connect roads, trails, wildlife areas, and remote mission locations without feeling like a loading-screen corridor.

Port Gellhorn has also gained a more intricate coastline. The updated shape suggests that the western side of Leonida may offer more than a single beach road or a decorative harbor. In practical terms, a broken coastline can create room for marinas, industrial yards, hidden access routes, and boat travel that feels different from the open-water approach to Vice City.

The southern change is arguably more important for everyday exploration. The Leonida Keys now appear as a clearer chain of islands with more visible relationships between roads, bridges, and waterways. If the broad outline survives into the final game, players may spend as much time planning how to cross the state as they do deciding where to cause trouble.

Why the leak still needs asterisks

The community map’s dramatic revision was helped by a Cyberleek image described as a leaked map from a pre-release build. That material may reveal genuine layout decisions, but it is not a final developer-confirmed atlas. Development maps can contain placeholder geometry, cut content, temporary names, or roads that never become accessible in the shipped game.

That is why the strongest parts of V16 are the areas where multiple clues overlap. Rockstar’s trailers and screenshots can anchor recognizable landmarks. The Netflix Extended Look adds ground-level context. The leak may fill in large-scale geography. None of those sources should be treated as equally authoritative, but together they can form a useful hypothesis.

• Official footage is the safest guide to places Rockstar wants players to notice.
• Preview comments can clarify scale, such as Rockstar’s claim that Leonida is roughly twice the size of GTA V’s map.
• Leaked material is most valuable for broad relationships, not final street-by-street certainty.
• The community map remains a work in progress and can change again before launch.

The unresolved question is density. A large map is exciting on paper, but the real test will be how much happens between the landmarks: interiors, shortcuts, wildlife, traffic behavior, side activities, and the small environmental stories that make a long drive feel worthwhile.

That also gives the map project lasting value after launch. Once players can compare the community outline with the finished world, every corrected road, missing island, and unexpected shortcut will reveal how Rockstar’s pre-release geography evolved.

For now, the V16 update gives fans a more compelling way to imagine that journey. Vice City may be the headline, but the surrounding waterways, parkland, keys, and coastal roads could determine whether Leonida feels like a backdrop or a living state.
